Volunteer Opportunities at Sengkang General Hospital

At Sengkang General Hospital, our physicians, employees, and volunteers are all dedicated to serving the needs of our community. Our aim is to provide outstanding care to every patient and to help us deliver it, we are always striving to attract dynamic and dedicated individuals to join us as volunteers in our programmes.

These are exciting times to consider joining our hospital as a volunteer. Many of our volunteers are keen to pursue careers in the healthcare sector, while some others want to give back to the community. The range of opportunities are expanding and volunteers with limited time can also participate in upcoming projects and events.

What do our volunteers do?

Volunteers are the backbone of our community events. We embrace the philosophy of empowering members of the community to help each other. Our programmes are designed to offer residents opportunities to support better health in the community.

Our gardening club volunteers help conserve and contribute to the greening of our gardens to foster an oasis of tranquility and natural beauty for our patients. They also bring abundant skills with fresh ideas, and extra hands to help with garden activities.

Our event specialists help out at our community events. Activities include preparing goodie bags, taking attendance and supporting logistical needs.

Our Arts in Healing volunteers liven up the atmosphere in the wards and other areas in the hospitals, through all forms of art activities (e.g. music, arts & crafts, singing). These activities often bring joy to patients and provide aid in their recovery process.

Our volunteer Greeters and Guiders are the first faces to welcome and guide our visitors and patients around our hospitals and clinics. They also assist with hospital tour requests.

Our Befrienders offer support to our patients in the hospital (e.g. read, chat) and at their homes after their discharge. They visit in-ward patients and provide company to our patients.
