SKH Doctor on lymphoedema

Dr Allen Wong, Consultant, Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Services, SKH, leads the SKH Lymphoedema Service and is also the current President of Lymphedema Society of Singapore. He shared that unexplained body swelling could signal lymphoedema, a chronic condition caused by lymphatic system damage, and highlighted early diagnosis and advanced treatments like microsurgery to restore lymphatic function. Dr Wong also noted that morbid obesity is an increasingly common cause of lymphoedema and urged those with persistent swelling to seek timely medical help.
