Research Milestones

  • Dr Rawtaer has led and contributed to numerous landmark initiatives in geriatric psychiatry and digital health. She pioneered one of Asia’s first cohorts utilising in-home sensor technology and machine learning to detect early cognitive impairment, demonstrating performance superior to conventional screening tools.
  • She is Principal Investigator of several major funded projects, including the Sensors In-Home for Elder Wellbeing (SINEW) programme and its expandediteration integrating biomarkers and explainable artificial intelligence. Her leadership has contributed to securing over SGD 24 million in research funding. In addition, she has spearheaded community interventions such as the SHINE and BRIGHT programmes, targeting mental health resilience and early intervention in seniors.

Highlights

  • Dr Rawtaer is currently Head and Senior Consultant of Psychiatry at Sengkang General Hospital and Director of its Research Office, where she provides strategic leadership in mental health service innovation and research development. She holds academic appointments across multiple medical schools and plays an active role in national policy and advisory committees related to mental health and dementia.
  • Her contributions have been recognised through national awards, including the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 2025. She has also received competitive research scholarships and institutional awards for excellence in service.
  • Beyond research, she is deeply committed to education and mentorship, shaping the next generation of psychiatrists and clinician-scientists.
