Singaporean doctor, nurses volunteer for humanitarian mission

In February this year, staff from Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) volunteered in a humanitarian mission in Jordan. Dr Mohamed Fahamy Koenitz, Resident Physician; Ahmad Khairil, Senior Nurse Manager; and Hafiz Tahir, Staff Nurse, from the Department of Emergency Medicine, along with Siti Nasriah Yusri, Nurse Educator from Nursing Education and Development, provided medical care to 2,000 refugees across three remote camps during their five-day mission. The team witnessed severe hardships faced by the refugees, noting their lack of access to clean water, medicine and regular healthcare. Dr Fahamy highlighted the critical role of medical missions in providing essential healthcare support to these vulnerable communities.
