Along with diagnosing and treating a wide array of infections and infectious disease, our team of specialists will go through great lengths to prevent infections long before they occur. This is done through physician education, antibiotic stewardship, vaccinations and purposeful health education in the community, which our team of medical staff are also involved in. Through our antibiotic stewardship programme, we play an important role in improving antibiotic prescription to effectively treat infections, protect our patients from unnecessary antibiotic usage and halt the spread of antibiotic resistance.

Our team is also instrumental in contributing to our hospital and national infectious disease outbreak response. We are also actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.

Announcements Sengkang General Hospital Holds Men's Health Forum to Champion Preventative Care and Wellbeing Among Men in Singapore On 30 August 2025, SKH held a Men's Health Public Forum at Suntec Convention Centre which drew nearly 300 participants. The forum featured expert talks, panel discussions, physiotherapist-led exercises, and live Q&As covering colorectal cancer, heart and liver wellness, weight management, mobility, erectile dysfunction, mental health, and other topics. SKH’s Community Health Fair survey findings last year revealed that while 94% of men valued healthy eating, only 11% exercised daily with nearly half exercising just 1-2 times weekly. These lifestyle gaps contribute to rising rates of preventable conditions including sarcopenia, fatty liver, obesity, colorectal cancer, and mental health issues.
