Dr Png Wenxian graduated with a Bachelor in Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore in 2009. He pursued his postgraduate specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery in Singapore and obtained his fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Dr Png’s subspecialty interest is in foot and ankle disorders and sports injuries. He treats a complete range of foot and ankle conditions and his clinical expertise includes the management of:
- Foot and ankle deformities such as bunions (hallux valgus) and claw toes
- Foot deformities such as flatfeet and cavus feet
- Diabetic foot wounds and deformity
- Foot and ankle trauma
- Sports injuries including cartilage and ligament injuries
- Arthroscopy of the foot and ankle
- Ankle arthritis including osteotomies, fusion and ankle replacement surgery
- Sports injuries and arthritis of the knee, including knee arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction and knee replacement
Dr Png is part of the Diabetic Limb Salvage service which comprises of a team of foot and ankle surgeons, plastic surgeons, interventional radiologists, podiatrists and specialty nurses. He focuses on diabetic foot disease and the treatment of complex diabetic wounds with novel techniques of wound care and deformity correction.
Dr Png is a strong patient advocate and is passionate about providing customised care for his patients. He believes in using current and proven techniques to maximize treatment outcomes for his patients. He has a special interest in 3D printing in orthopaedic surgery and believes that this technology will augment training and improve surgical outcomes.
Beyond his clinical duties, Dr Png has a keen interest in clinical research and has published and presented his research in both local and international conferences and medical journals. He also continues to contribute to medical education and is involved in the teaching of future generations of doctors and surgeons in undergraduate as well as post graduate training programs.
