Dr Allen Wei-Jiat Wong is a Consultant in Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery with broad-based, all-rounded training across reconstructive microsurgery, complex oncologic reconstruction, lymphatic surgery, and aesthetic surgery. He completed fellowship training at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (CGMH), Linkou, Taiwan—one of the world’s leading centres for reconstructive microsurgery—where he refined advanced microsurgical techniques and gained dedicated experience in lymphatic and lymphoedema surgery. He was also awarded the Ministry of Health’s Human Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Team Scholarship for Comprehensive and Preventative Management of Lymphoedema.
Passionate about microsurgical reconstruction, Dr Allen played a pivotal role in establishing the microsurgical reconstruction service at Sengkang General Hospital. He is well versed in perforator flap reconstruction, including the deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flap, transverse upper gracilis (TUG) flap, and profunda artery perforator (PAP) flap, particularly for autologous breast reconstruction. He believes in pushing the frontiers of reconstruction using minimally invasive techniques—such as endoscopic flap harvest—to achieve smaller, well-hidden scars and faster recovery. This is especially useful in breast reconstruction, including endoscopic latissimus dorsi (LD) flap reconstruction and laparoscopic omentum flap harvest in selected patients. He also integrates reconstructive and aesthetic principles to restore form and function while preserving a natural appearance.
He pioneered the establishment of the Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) Lymphoedema Service, a Signature Programme of SKH, providing comprehensive one-stop care for patients with lymphatic disorders. Under his leadership, the service became the first Lymphatic Education & Research Network (LE&RN)–accredited Center of Excellence for Lymphatic Surgery in Southeast Asia, advancing standards in lymphatic reconstruction, education, and research across the region. He has also pioneered novel lymphatic techniques, including dLYMPHA and BLOOM, and continues to drive innovation through clinical research, multidisciplinary collaboration, and public and professional education—aimed at restoring function, reducing morbidity, and improving quality of life for patients.
Dr Allen’s reconstructive foundation also underpins his approach to aesthetic medicine and surgery. He tailors each treatment plan to the individual—aligning patients’ goals with their unique anatomy—to achieve refined, natural-looking results through non-surgical rejuvenation (lasers, injectables, and botulinum toxin) and/or surgery (including eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, and facelifts). Through meticulous technique and thoughtful scar placement, he strives to deliver harmonious and long-lasting outcomes for every patient.
