Undergraduate

Local Medical Students Posting

The Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) undergraduate rotations are designed to develop well-rounded clinically competent medical students in all aspects of medicine. SKH has a range of clinical specialties, and a comprehensive span of patient case-mixes. The various clinical rotations are structured to provide a balanced and diverse exposure to inpatient, outpatient and occasional long-term care population.

During the program, students will work closely with clinicians whose interests span, not only clinical work but also medical education, research and health administration. We have a team of dedicated clinical faculty who will provide you with the best possible tutelage in various branches of medicine and specialty care. Currently we host medical students from three local medical schools, i.e., Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, NUS YLL School of Medicine, and NTU LKCMedicine.

Duke-NUS Medical School

Sengkang General Hospital hosts Duke-NUS medical students for clinical attachment.

NUS Yong Loo Ling School of Medicine

Sengkang General Hospital hosts NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine students for Phase II, Phase III, SIP and Phase V clinical posting. For example, the Phase II Clinical Skills Foundation Programme (CSFP) was specifically designed to equip students with the basic clinical skills which should form a solid base upon which a life-time of clinical competencies can be supported. Training in the skills of patient interview, physical examination, effective communication and basic practical procedures, which form the backbone of the Clinical Skills Foundation Programme, will be repeated and expanded throughout the medical course, so that newly graduating doctors will be in full possession of these key competencies.
