SKH Doctor shares her stroke recovery journey

Dr Jessica Ee, Associate Consultant, Dermatology Service, SKH, was featured on President's Challenge Night 2025, where she shared her inspiring recovery journey after suffering a stroke at age 32. She received comprehensive support through the Abilities Beyond Limitations and Expectations (ABLE) programme, which included therapy sessions and reintegration activities such as cooking and dance to enhance her mobility and confidence. Dr Ee emphasised that recovery from stroke is possible with determination and proper support, hoping her story would inspire others facing similar challenges. She acknowledged the crucial support from family and colleagues, including Adjunct Associate Professor Deanna Lee, Senior Consultant, Department of Internal Medicine, SKH, who commended Dr Ee’s resilience and determination, describing her recovery from being bedbound and in a coma to regaining independence as truly remarkable.
