FAQs

How do I plan for my pregnancy?

Please visit our clinic for more information

What medications can I safely take when I am pregnant?

Prenatal vitamins, which are now available without a prescription, are safe to take during pregnancy. For any other medications, vitamins, herbal remedies or supplements, do check with your physician. For more information please visit - https://www.kkh.com.sg/patient-care/areas-of-care/Documents/general-medication-use.pdf

Which doctor will I see?

Subsidised patients will receive team-based care led by an assigned specialist. Non-subsidised patients will receive team-based care led by their choice of specialist. Please be assured that patients receive the same quality of care regardless of their subsidy status.

How long will my visit take?

The time for your visit may take an hour or up to three hours. This is because patients ahead of you may have complex conditions and/or if doctors are called to attend to emergencies in the operating theatres or wards. You may have to wait for the results of your scans or tests to facilitate further medical advice.

What are the consultation fees?

You can refer to the list of consultation fees here.

Should I get my flu vaccination when I am pregnant?

We recommend that you get a flu vaccination if you are pregnant during flu season. It is safe to get a flu vaccination even if you are in the first trimester.

Announcements Sengkang General Hospital Holds Men's Health Forum to Champion Preventative Care and Wellbeing Among Men in Singapore On 30 August 2025, SKH held a Men's Health Public Forum at Suntec Convention Centre which drew nearly 300 participants. The forum featured expert talks, panel discussions, physiotherapist-led exercises, and live Q&As covering colorectal cancer, heart and liver wellness, weight management, mobility, erectile dysfunction, mental health, and other topics. SKH’s Community Health Fair survey findings last year revealed that while 94% of men valued healthy eating, only 11% exercised daily with nearly half exercising just 1-2 times weekly. These lifestyle gaps contribute to rising rates of preventable conditions including sarcopenia, fatty liver, obesity, colorectal cancer, and mental health issues. The event also launched "Man Up!", a book by Associate Professor Lee Lui Shiong, Senior Consultant and Head, Department of Urology, SKH, featuring true stories from patients and caregivers navigating health challenges.
