The Community Health Academy (CHA) is a community educational outreach effort by SKH to train interested members of the public in a core set of medical knowledge and skills to achieve a realistic and effective sense of personal empowerment in health and medical-related matters.

Programme Overview

The CHA is suitable for anyone who is keen to learn and gain basic knowledge of managing common health conditions. Classes will be conducted in English, on Saturday mornings at Sengkang General Hospital. Each session will be about 3 hours in duration. The speakers comprise various healthcare professionals in SKH, ranging from doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals, to administrative and ancillary staff.

Module 1

Module 1 was successfully conducted in April 2024. Some of the topics covered included:

Module 2: When Do You Go to the Emergency Department?

Module 2 was successfully conducted in November 2024. Some of the topics covered included:
