What is frailty?
Frailty is a condition that results from the gradual loss of bodily reserves with age. Frail older persons may experience some or all of the following: tiredness, weakness, difficulty walking, loss of weight. Frailty increases the older person's risk of negative health-related outcomes such as falls, disability and hospitalizations. Not all older persons become frail. With proper care, an older person's frailty can be reversed or prevented from further deterioration.
