The Department of General Medicine is an integral part of Sengkang General Hospital offering a myriad of specialised medical services and have dedicated experienced Consultants in various disciplines including:

The Department of General Medicine provides both acute inpatient medical care as well as outpatient consult services at the Sengkang General Hospital Medical Centre.

Our department has a simple aim – to provide compassionate and holistic multidisciplinary care to all patients in Sengkang General Hospital. We work very closely with our nursing colleagues and our allied health colleagues in Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Speech therapy, Dietetics, Psychology and Medical Social Services to achieve our aims.

The Department of General Medicine also believes strongly in medical education and we will have medical undergraduate colleagues from National University of Singapore (NUS) Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Duke-NUS Medical School and Lee Kong Chian (LKC) School of Medicine attached to our department.

Despite our relative "young" department, it has been involved in various research activities to improve the lives of patients such as the IPPT-S initiative where screening elderly residents in the north-east for frailty in various parts of Sengkang and Punggol.
