The Urology Service at Sengkang General Hospital has a comprehensive range of services for the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic urological conditions. We have the expertise and surgical skills in general urology and all the subspecialties of urology.
The Urology Service at SKH believes in achieving healthy outcomes for our patients. We aim to reduce the impact of disease on the individual, family and community, and allow more opportunities for healthy living. This can be achieved via a continuous pursuit of improvement through collaboration and meaningful change.
All our specialist staff are actively involved in the Academic Clinical Program (Surgery) in SingHealth. This fosters easy collaboration between healthcare professionals at all levels within SKH and SingHealth so that clinical outcomes can be optimised.
For example, in oncology, our surgeons form part of a multidisciplinary team comprising medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and nurses dedicated to providing the most appropriate cancer treatment for our patients. The Pelvic Floor Disorder service which consists of nurses, colorectal surgeons and urologists, work together to care for patients with urinary and bowel problems. The synergy between team members allows for inter-professional discussion to better patient outcomes and promotes opportunities for exploration of new treatment strategies.
We also believe in engaging the family and community around the patient so that he/she can return to work and keep life as 'normal' as possible. Hence, there is also a strong emphasis on engagement with family physicians to provide more holistic care for our patients.
We provide the following services for evaluation and treatment of the following conditions:
