Profile

Dr Pearlie Tan is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon. She graduated from Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry (2004).

Upon completing her Plastic Surgery training, she was awarded a scholarship (Singhealth HMDP) to further specialize in Craniofacial Surgery at the world-renowned Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (Taiwan), where she focused on orthognathic surgery for malocclusion and cosmetic jaw asymmetries, facial contouring, rhinoplasty, facial trauma and cleft surgery. During this time, she refined her skills and techniques, along with the use of advanced imaging systems for maxillofacial analysis i.e. 3D-imaging and intra-operative navigation.

Her practice includes: Orthognathic surgery (double-jaw surgery), Facial contouring, Facial Trauma, Cleft, Rhinoplasty, Reconstructive Surgery, Burns, Lymphedema and Cosmetic Surgery.

Dr Tan’s training in the world-premier Craniofacial Unit in Chang Gung exposed her to a deeper appreciation of the unique aesthetic standards and needs of people of Asian culture. She developed a psychological assessment tool to study the long-term impact of maxillofacial surgery, and how best to optimize each individual’s outcome and treatment experience based on their background, culture and perceptions.

She has presented her work at international, regional and local conferences, which have been published in various medical journals. An avid volunteer Plastic Surgeon, she has been part of cleft mission trips to India, China and Cambodia.
