Infectious Disease

The Infectious Diseases service at Sengkang General Hospital provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient clinical services related to the care of patients with proven or suspected infectious diseases. The team of physicians are equipped to manage various infections ranging in complexity and provide consultative care for patients with particularly challenging problems in the diagnosis, management and therapy of various infectious diseases.  These infections may be bacterial, viral, fungal or parasitic in origin, and may be acquired locally from the community or abroad during travel. Our Infectious Diseases service at SKH is committed to working together with other physicians in the community to improve the overall population’s health care and quality of life by enhancing the application of its patient care delivery. 

Our Clinical Services

  • Sexually transmitted diseases including Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) 
  • Antimicrobial Stewardship Programme (ASP) 
    • This programme optimizes antibiotic to ensure appropriate usage.
  • Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT)
    • The Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) service at the hospital offers patients administration of intravenous and intramuscular antibiotics to patients in the outpatient setting.
  • Infection Prevention and Control Programme
  • General Infectious Diseases including management of multidrug-resistant organisms (MDRO)

Our Clinic

The team provides consultation services for a wide range of infectious diseases including fever of unknown origin. The Outpatient Antibiotic Therapy Clinic is located on Level 2 of the Medical Centre.
