Department of Radiology

The Department of Radiology at Sengkang General Hospital provides a wide range of Radiological services.
Together with Radiologists, these services are carried out by a large team of Radiographers who are Allied Health (AH) Professionals specializing in medical imaging.


Radiographers work at the frontline together with other multi-disciplinary teams in a diverse environment. As the custodian of radiation safety, they play an essential role in ensuring that the radiological request is justifiable and that the radiation dose received by patient is “As Low As Reasonably Achievable” (ALARA).


Radiography is a unique AH Profession where Science meets Art. This is well demonstrated in the daily use of advance technology and positioning techniques to achieve high quality medical images comprising of different shades of greys; that provides a diagnostic answer to the clinical question.

Treatments
The Radiology department offers minimally Invasive Interventional Radiology / Cardiology procedures for the treatment of various diseases. These range from vascular, hepatobiliary, to oncology and palliative care.

As the procedures are minimally invasive, some procedures do not require hospital admission and patients can be discharged on the same day after a few hours of observation.


Location/Operating Hours

Readiology

We are located at the Medical Centre Level 2. Operating hours are from Monday - Friday, 8.30am to 6pm. Appointment is not required for General Radiography. Appointment is required for other specialized examinations.

Radiology on 3, Medical Centre Level 3

Located on the same floor as Orthopaedic surgery in order to provide seamless x-ray services for patients requiring general imaging. This includes general orthopaedic x-rays as well as specialized long length imaging of the spine and limbs for pre surgical assessment. Operating hours are from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6pm.

Radiology on 5, Medical Centre Level 5

Provide a one stop imaging service for patients coming for consultation on breast surgery and / or interventional procedure. This includes screening / diagnostic mammography / ultrasonography investigations and biopsies all within the same level.  Operating hours are from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6pm.
